WOWIO and Updates
First off, one of my big new years resolutions is to have more frequent and dependable updates; that's why there's no new comic yet. I'm making three comics at a time now, so when the next one gets posted, it will mean there are two more just waiting to go up. I'm hoping to get back on a regular schedule this way.

WOWIO

And now, WOWIO. It's a service that allows people within the United States to download books as PDFs for free once signed up (which is also free), and that will now include WOWIO. WOWIO starts at the beginning of El Goonish Shive, and introduces new material as well, including new images, commentary, and comics.

Downloading these books also helps to support EGS, as they are sponsored in such a way that I get a little money every time an issue is downloaded. Free comics for you, a little revenue for El Goonish Shive. It's a beautiful thing ^_^

US Readers Only?

The only real downer is that only those in the US can download these for now, and I'm sure all my non-US fans want an explanation. I've heard it's a licensing issue, but I honestly don't know the whole story as I'd give them permission in a heartbeat. From what I've been told, however, WOWIO is working on improving the situation. I'm hoping this changes sooner rather than later, as I know of many fans outside of the US who would want in on this.

This is one of the reasons, however, that I'm listing the new content as simply "new" and not "exclusive". The new material will start out only on WOWIO as extra incentive to download it, but may eventually be made available in some other way.
