STORYLINE
GUIDES As the warning beneathe the title suggests, these guides contain a great deal of information regarding the storylines. The design is meant to be a fun read for veteran readers, a helper for new readers, and a quick review source for those who may not have the time to go through the archives looking for the answer to one nagging little question. The summaries within would be poor substitutes for the comics themselves, but these are supposed to be guides, not replacements. I believe the guides are, for the most part, self-explanatory. For the parts where further explanation may be appreciated, I have a guide for the guides below. STORYLINE TITLE: Guide to the Guides STORYLINES VS ARCS - If a guide is for an arc, Summary and Transformations will be divided up by the parts of the storyline. Characters / Silhouettes and Stuff will have numbers next to them that will correspond to the parts they apply to. For example, if Tedd is in parts 1 and 3 for a story, the numbers "1, 3" will be next to his name. In addition, clicking those numbers will scroll the page to the corresponding part in the summary section. CHARACTERS - The characters listed are those who appeared in the storyline in one form or another. Appearing means being seen in some way, or at least having dialogue. Another character mentioning that characters name and nothing more would not get that character on the list. All characters who appear under characters are in alphabetical order, and their names are written as they are in their first entry under Characters for consistency. Characters with names in bold are appearing for the first time in that story (fillers don't count). If there's a (BG) next to a character's name, then that character was just somewhere in the background as part of the scenery, and didn't do anything more than that. SILHOUETTES - Characters who appear only in silhouette during a story don't get listed under the Character heading, and instead get listed under Silhouettes. This applies even if the reader is supposed to know who the silhouette represents. If the character is appearing in Silhouette for the first time, their name will be in bold under Silhouettes for that story, then bold again under characters when they first appear under that list. If a name isn't given for the Silhouette, only a vague description may be given. If a character starts a story in silhouette, but is shown out of silhouette by the end of it, that character will get listed under Characters. SUMMARY - A summary of the story (obviously). These summaries are designed to be only mildly entertaining, and to supply as much key information as possible. TRANSFORMATIONS - There are currently three categories for transformations: Forms, Transformations, and Legion Forms. Each character can have an entry in each of those three categories for each storyline/part, though each entry may list multiple things. Generally speaking, the form "human" is not listed, and it's simply implied that the character was human at some point. Grace is the exception; due to debates that could arise over her humanity, I list her human form as if it wasn't her primary form. STUFF - No, it's not just a lazy title. Well, it's that as well, but that's not all it is. Stuff is the section that lists various things and places that are in the storyline. Grace's squirrel teddy would be listed, along with hammers, Tedd's house, etc., no matter how minor the occurance. If you're really bored someday, there may be instances when you could turn the Stuff section into a treasure hunt. Beyond that, it's just a quick reference for those who sometimes wonder whether or not something was in a storyline. |
